The making of Rebirth

The making of Rebirth

From sketch to story, we invite you to discover Rebirth’s next chapter…

Three years ago, when faced with the fact that the fashion industry produces 97 million tonnes of textile waste each year, we knew we had to challenge ourselves to find an innovative way of creating our signature accessories whilst honouring our natural world. Our Rebirth Collections do just that….

The return of our 3rd Limited Edition Rebirth collection: Celebration of Frills breathes new life into deadstock fabrics to create uplifting, embroidered treasures that not only look beautiful and give back to wildlife conservation, but play a small part in limiting the environmental impact of the fashion industry.

Made in Rajasthan, India - a beautiful location best known for traditional techniques and textile design - we have worked alongside the same factory for every collection, who are still facing the devastating effects from Covid-19. Dealing with cancelled orders, halting production, and excess material left unwanted and unused, Rebirth alleviates some of their pressure and limits the environmental impact of the fashion industry. Since our very first Rebirth Collection in 2021, we have now repurposed 900 metres of deadstock fabric, together, saving over 500 pounds of wasted material that would have eventually made its way to landfill. We’ve turned potential waste into something beautiful!

I chose to embroider these pretty floral cottons with my signature motifs - sun, shells and turtles - with each design representing rebirth and celebrating the new life cycle of these fabrics.

It’s been an incredible journey creating yet another collection, and I couldn’t be prouder of the final limited-edition pieces. With each design holding their own unique story, I hope you find a design that brings you joy whenever you wander this summer and beyond.
