As the ‘Season of giving’ fast approaches, we have collaborated with Fashion, Travel and Lifestyle Blogger ‘The London Chatter’, to create a limited-edition pouch in support of the ‘Local Ocean Conservation’ charity.
Inspired by a mutual respect for our planet and a desire to add a philanthropic edge to shopping lists this Christmas, we worked closely with Kelly to create the playful ‘Watamu Turtle Pouch’. Enhanced by Elizabeth's signature intricate embroidery, this cotton
travel pouch serves a double purpose: a beautiful gift and a slice of comfort in knowing that 100% of the proceeds are going directly to the preservation of our turtle population.
The Local Ocean Conservation charity is a private, not for profit organisation committed to the protection of Kenya's marine environment. With a focus on turtles they use practical conservation, community involvement and development, education, research and campaigning to promote the sustainable use of Kenya's marine resources.
“I have grown up in awe of the work Local Ocean undertake to protect the marine life and the beaches in the village I call home, Watamu. I have been lucky enough to help with many of the turtle releases, and I can tell you first hand, nothing brings more joy than watching these beautiful beings healthily return back into the wild. Being an avid fan of Elizabeth Scarlett luxury homewares, and sharing such mutual passions (primarily, a love of pineapples!) with her, I'm thrilled we are working together to raise some vital awareness and funds for Local Ocean Conservation” - Kelly Eastwood.
“Kelly's enthusiasm for conservation and Kenyan wildlife is infectious and with nearly all species of turtles classified as endangered, I knew that the Local Ocean Conservation was the perfect fit for our very first charity collaboration.Conservation and sustainability are core principles behind our brand and we are committed to supporting organisations that are like-minded and set on making a difference. We hope that this pouch brings both joy to its recipients and a life-line to the turtles who inspired its design.”- Elizabeth Scarlett Elsey
All proceeds will go direct to Local Ocean Conservation.
